Data deletion

Apk Extractor has no user accounts and no developer server. There is no online profile to delete. Here is how to remove everything that exists on your side, and how to reach anything we might hold from an email.

1. App settings

On Android, open Settings → Apps → Apk Extractor → Storage and tap Clear data. This removes the app's preferences, including your saved folder choice. Uninstalling the app also removes them.

2. Extracted APKs and icons

These are normal files in the folder you chose. Open that folder with a file manager and delete the files you no longer want. Uninstalling the app does not remove them.

3. Support emails

If you have emailed the developer, send a new message with the subject “Data deletion request” from the same email address. We will delete the conversation from our mailbox and confirm, normally within 30 days. We may need to keep a minimal record where the law requires it.

Frequently asked questions

Where are extracted APKs saved?

They are saved in the folder you selected the first time you extracted an APK. To see or change it, open Settings → Saved Path. The app can only write where you have granted folder access.

Uninstalling Apk Extractor does not delete files you have already extracted. Use a file manager to remove them.

Why does the app ask me to choose a folder?

Android protects your storage with the Storage Access Framework (SAF). Instead of asking for broad storage access, Apk Extractor asks you to pick a folder. That grants it permission to create APK and icon files in that one place — nothing else.

Why can the app see all installed apps?

Listing installed apps is the whole point of the app. On Android 11 and later this requires the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission. The list is read on your device, used to draw the screen and search results, and is never uploaded or shared.

The developer cannot see which apps are installed on your phone.

Some system apps are missing from the list.

By default the app shows user-installed apps. Use the overflow menu and choose Show System Apps to include system packages. Some Android builds hide certain system packages from third-party apps entirely, so a few may still not appear.

Where are saved icons?

Saved icons are written as PNG files to the same folder you use for extracted APKs. The filename follows the current naming format in Settings. If the folder was removed or the permission was revoked, choose the folder again and retry.

How do I share an extracted APK?

Open the app's menu and choose Share, or use the share option for an extracted file in the app. Android's share sheet opens and you pick the receiving app.

Remember that sharing an APK gives the receiver a full copy of the app. Only share apps you have the right to share.

“Unable to Extract this Apk” — what should I do?

Try these steps in order:

  1. Make sure the selected folder still exists and is writable.
  2. Re-select the folder in Settings → Saved Path.
  3. Check that you have enough free storage space.
  4. For split APKs, extract while the app is installed and not being updated.
  5. Restart the device and try again.

If it still fails, email the app name, Android version and the exact message you see.

Does the app upload my data or show ads?

No. There are no ads, no analytics and no developer server. The app does not transmit your installed-app list, extracted files or settings. The only network activity is a link you choose to open, such as Google Play or your email app.

Read the privacy policy for the full detail.

How do I reset the app's settings?

Use Settings → Apps → Apk Extractor → Storage → Clear data on Android. This resets the theme, naming format, folder choice and other preferences. Extracted files in your chosen folder are not affected.

Is it legal to extract an APK?

Extracting an APK for personal backup or interoperability can be lawful in many places, but the rules depend on your country, the app's licence and what you do with the file. Do not redistribute an APK unless the app's licence or the law allows it.

The Terms of Use explain the rules that apply to this app. They are not legal advice.
